Third Annual Velo & Vines Century Ride Set to Break Fundraising Goal for UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation

  • Community leaders to join third-annual event that will raise more than $150,000 for medical grants to help children gain access to health-related services

 

WHAT: Community leaders and supporters from across the nation will gather Saturday, June 10, at the Arnot-Roberts Winery in Healdsburg, Calif., for the start of the third annual Velo & Vines Century Ride along the rolling hills and valleys of the Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River.

 

Kaelyn, 14, a recent UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation grant recipient, will announce the start of the race. Accompanied by her family, she will stop at the various rest stops to encourage the riders along the route.

 

UHCCF provides medical grants that help children gain access to health-related services not covered, or not fully covered, by their parents’ commercial health insurance plans.  Since 2007, UHCCF has awarded more than 13,000 grants valued at over $35 million to children and their families across the United States. In California, children and families have been awarded more than 180 grants totaling more than $400,000 since 2014.

 

UHCCF grants are funded by contributions from individuals, corporations and UnitedHealth Group employees. The 2017 UHCCF Velo & Vines Century Ride is hosted by the UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation and sponsored by Salesforce, Arnot-Roberts Winery and Three Rivers Provider Network. All proceeds fund UHCCF medical grants.
